The Copyright Act of 1976 is a United States copyright legislation and stays the main basis of copyright regulation in the United States, as modified by several later passed copyright provisions. The Act spells out the fundamental civil liberties of copyright owners, ordered the doctrine of “reasonable use,” and for most brand-new copyrights took on a unitary term based on the date of the writer’s death rather than the previous scheme of dealt with initial and revival terms. It came to be Public Regulation number 94-553 on October 19, 1976 and entered into impact on January 1, 1978.
