  1. I eat very healthily. Mediterranean diet, no sugar, transformed food etc… I do not exercise. Depression plays a hude part in that. My town is very ugly and I have bipolar 2. I am now on lithium and other medications. I am overweight.

  2. I remember when I was taking quetiapine, I would wake up at 4am really hungry and would eat anything inside the fridge. I was half-awake munching while sitting in front of the open fridge. That’s the reason I hated that medication. Good thing my doctor found a good combination and they’re still my medications—we just calibrate it depending on my present situation.

  3. Thank goodenss for these new options to treat weight gain!!! No more relentless body shaming by healthcare providers, even when they know full well that you take weight gain meds, and were skinny prior to the meds. It just so f*cked sometimes how embedded weight stigma is within medicine.

  4. After a series of miscarriages and 2 still born babies, I was given antidepressants. I had spent 3 months in bed not speaking, and became afraid to leave my house. The pills eventually helped me to feel more normal. I had 2 children to care for.
Well I found myself gaining weight, so I went to the gym, lost the weight and ended up gaining more. I tried everything to keep my slim figure, but kept failing, which made me sadder.
It wasn’t until I had been on medication for more than 10 years, a female dr finally told me that antidepressants cause weight gain. I had already gained 80 lbs. I wish they had told me this in the first place, I would have tried something else.

  5. Topamax/topiramate made me like a Dachau prisoner, changed my personality for the worst and gave me a mild metabolic acidosis and summer hypertermia, i ended thrice in ER. No thanks, i prefer to be fat and soft than a skinny annoying b1tch or, even worse, dead

  6. BMI and those stupid charts to define obesity are primitive and simplistic metrics. They don't tell the whole story, and their austerity is damaging to people who are already used to being damaged in other ways. These draconian metrics are even worse as they make it "official".

  7. no you should not take a pill for weight loss. OMG weight loss is the easiest thing when your weight is not being impacted by medications.

  8. Thank you for sharing this information, I am 40 BMI. I’ve tried losing weight by eating more healthy, & walking , but no weight loss. I do take medication that cause weight gain.

  9. I lost 30 pounds on my own during the pandemic by "moving more and eating less" in spite of having pcos and lipedema. After that i stayed in a plateau for years and started creeping back up. Even though i kept up with my diet and exercise regemine. I eventually got on zepbound as my hormone specialists were adamant i take it for my insulin resistance. I started it in November 2025 and finally started losing weight again. I had no side effects. Not even nausea or vomiting. I'm actually seeing results for my hard work and am under 200lbs for the first time since 2016. It's even helped the symptoms of my lipedema. And now my job's insurance won't cover it anymore. I'm devastated. I already pay almost $400 for my bhrt not covered my insurance. I had to wait till i paid off my car to start my treatments that have drastically helped me. I don't know what to do now and am worried about buying compounded from other companies that could be dangerous
