20 thoughts on “Why you can'' t slim down with periodic fasting

  1. I’ve only been doing it for a short period but it’s worked very well for me so far

  2. I’m confused…after reading Delay Don’t Deny, I adopted a 19:5 Intermittent Fasting, ate whatever I wanted in the “eating window”…mostly clean but not always…and dropped 25 lbs over 3 months. Feel fantastic, no more afternoon slumps, great focus, increase energy, improved sleep, skin tones more even, skin tags disappeared, gut healing. I typically avoid grains, sugar, (all white foods), processed foods, seed oils, alcohol. I do best fasting til 1, closing window at 6. I clean fast on black coffee, pink salt and water only. I do 4 days @ 19:5, 2 days @ 23:1 & 1 day 16:8 on Sunday. I don’t track macros or carbs as I want something sustainable for the rest of my life. After watching this video I’m worried that maybe need to stop IF?

  3. Intermittent fasting DOES work if followed properly. You probably have done it incorrectly.

  4. Questions I'm about 50 lbs overweight would a total fast of 40 days correct insulin resistance?

  5. I was feeling drink and sleepy and slurring my speech. I took my bg, it was 100. But that's normal for healthy people. After i ate, i was much better.

  6. IF doesnt seem to be working for me or Im eating too much. Can someone please explain what a normal amount of calories to eat in a day might be if eating 1-2 times a day??? Im confused about eating too few a calories to lose weight, only to hurt myself or metabolism and lean mass down the road. Anyone???

  7. I actually started losing weight only after I stopped intermittent fasting. Having breakfast first thing in the morning helps regulate my appetite throughout the day. IF made my body feel ravenous and stuck in survival mode. I appreciate your effort to explore weight loss and intermittent fasting, but it's important to acknowledge that weight isn't always about insulin alone. For many people, especially women with cortisol sensitivity or trauma backgrounds, low carb or prolonged fasting can actually raise cortisol, which in turn raises insulin and stalls or even reverses fat loss. Not everyone with insulin resistance responds well to a low-carb diet. Some do better with moderate carbs, balanced meals, and regulated stress responses. It’s really not one size fits all, and assuming otherwise can feel a bit oversimplified. A more nuanced, compassionate approach that includes nervous system regulation, sleep, and individual metabolic types might resonate more with those who feel like they’re “doing everything right” but still not seeing results.

  8. I’m not losing. I’m not eating breads, dairy or sugar. My doctor said my body thinks I’m starving so it’s holding on to everything.

  9. I have done intermittent fasting for years and didn’t lose any weight but then again I am always normal weight.

  10. Tried intermittent fasting. Sadly it didn't work for me. I felt light headed during fasting time, dizzy and unable to concentrate. I'm back to calorie deficit and cutting down on carbs big time. Increase the protein. Learn to love greek yogurt and fruit. Track what you eat and stop snacking in between meals. Exercise more, at least three big cardio workouts a week in addition to lots of walking everyday.

  11. amazing presentation of common sense information! I have had this problem of not being able to lose weight! It's all about insulin!

  12. I have lost 150 lbs intermittent fasting you are a bleeding hole who doesn't have any clue what your talking about.

  13. I’ve just watched a few videos on this channel and feel very demoralised….. I’ve been doing 16:8 but not controlling what I eat and that helped. Now a I’ve gone to 18:6 and being a bit more careful in what I eat (given up some things) …. But these videos make me feel like I need to do much much more to get results .. and honestly I don’t have the emotional energy to do more at this point. So I think I just need to keep going and see what happens. I’m less hopeful now though of what that might bring.

  14. I absolutely cannot go down to 20 g a day. I get insane cramping in my calf muscles. That’s only alleviated by increasing my carbs even to 50, but I will not do that to myself again.

  15. I'm looking for real MDs talking about this. Not Dr. of Chiropractic. There are so many of them who seem whako to me. So this is refreshing.

  16. How do you check your morning fasting insulin? With a glucose monitor like diabetics use?
