Because of being raised in religion and just seeing so much about women’s biology mocked in culture as well, I did what Dr. Mindy said a lot of women do… essentially, tell ourselves biology has no effect on us and just push through, stumbling, missing so many things and blaming ourselves … just knowing what PMDD/PMS is and without embarrassment or stupid shame and understanding that this is the necessary Nurture phase can change millions of lives, re-frame and empower to know what’s really going on and what’s needed.

    We ARE biologically different than men in lots of ways and that would be NO PROBLEM if women were equally respected. Each sex has unique strengths and vulnerabilities. Equal respect doesn’t mean we’re exact. Sex is not sexism, gender is—because gender ties WAYS OF BEING to sex, affirming sexist stereotypes and denies our biological strengths and vulnerabilities and necessary protections and puts our PERSONALITIES and TALENTS in boxes and constrains them with stereotypes. So far as our ways of being, our personalities — men and women are a Venn Diagram! We are not polar opposites—there is absolute overlap and that is good for connection as well as differences good for attraction and being complimentary to each other 💜 I hope someday soon we get to create a world together where men and women are equally respected and we can go all the way, with who we are in the body we are born in AND for there to be a respectful mutual understanding about our biological strengths and vulnerabilities and weave them into how we LIVE and LOVE each other! It’s conversations like this that will help get us there!!! 💜

  5. I am 61 and no matter what I do I can’t seem to lose weight. I’ll lose a few pounds and then I gain it all back HELP.

  6. So do you suggest that a women get on HRT? My male doctors said if I wasn't having issues with Hot flashes that HRT is not needed and if I were to get on HRT that I would start gaining weight. What are your thoughts. I am 50 and post monopause

  12. This is not my experience. I was never as fit and lean as after 40.
    Also my belly has been flat at every age. Even when I was a little overweight.
    So I guess it depends on the person.🤷🏼‍♀️
    Or maybe I just live in the right way naturally. 😂
    I even sleep better nowadays. 😂
    So yeah, this is not for me.

  13. I am pre menopausal….and I noticed one day it felt like my belly ballooned…I gained weight…I was not overeating etc….I bet it is the estrogen thing.. I asked if the Dr could give me something to balance my hormones so maybe that will work. Regardless even though I was overweight my cholesterol was good and my blood pressure in fact they said I had an athletes heart…..that's surprising since I am overweight and don't work out like I used to…maybe a fluke but I hope this works so I can work on diet and exercise….I guess it is a wait and see.
