  1. Fasting: America’s Overlooked Answer to an Expanding Crisis
    America is not merely gaining weight—it is drifting into a full-scale public health emergency. Obesity has become so widespread that it now strains our healthcare system, shortens lifespans, and quietly erodes quality of life for millions. Yet for all the complexity we attach to this crisis, the path to correction may be far simpler—and far older—than we care to admit.
    For over 3,500 years, societies have turned to fasting in moments of collective danger. When armies approached, when droughts threatened survival, when uncertainty loomed, people responded not only with strategy but with discipline—spiritual and physical. They fasted. Not as a fad, but as a deliberate, structured act of recalibration.
    If obesity is not a catastrophe, what is? It may lack the drama of war or natural disaster, but its toll is just as real—and far more prolonged. It demands a response rooted in both knowledge and action. Fasting, when done correctly and responsibly, offers precisely that.

    The practice is neither extreme nor mysterious. It begins with intention. On the evening before a fast, it is absolutely essential for one to verbally declare a clear purpose for the fast—mentally and, for many, spiritually. This simple act of verbally declaring that one intends to fast the following day magically transforms fasting from deprivation into discipline. Skipping the step of verbally declaring one’s intention to fast the following day makes keeping the fast virtually impossible.

    Preparation follows. Before sunrise, the body is nourished with a balanced, low-carbohydrate meal—vegetables, healthy fats, and proteins that sustain rather than spike. With the rising sun, the fast begins. During daylight hours, hydration remains essential, but caloric intake pauses. Coffee, tea, and water suffice.
    At sunset, the fast concludes not with breaking the fast, but the cycle repeats with a re-declaration of one’s vow to fast the following day.

    This is not starvation. It is structure.
    When paired with regular physical activity, such a rhythm can lead not only to weight loss, but to weight stability—a far rarer and more valuable achievement. Beyond the scale, many report improved sleep, clearer thinking, lower blood pressure, and even a reversal of early metabolic conditions such as prediabetes.
    Of course, fasting is not a universal prescription. It requires awareness, and in some cases, medical guidance. But to dismiss it outright is to ignore one of the oldest, most time-tested tools available to humanity.
    We have tried complexity. We have tried convenience. Perhaps it is time to rediscover discipline.
    The obesity epidemic will not reverse itself. But neither is it beyond our control. Sometimes, the most powerful solutions are not new innovations, but ancient practices—waiting to be taken seriously once again.

  5. I really wish these sales people were not allowed to have YouTube Chanels. The amount of nonsense is unreal. The amount of these people that are 'dieticians', 'nutritionists' etc. Selling programs and protein shakes and fishing for sponsorship. 

    'Dieticians', 'nutritionists' etc are the same as phrenologists, chiropractors etc. All they do is read the current food dogma from observational studies and spout it as their own.

    Please stay away from these pseudo experts. I have seen all of these 'dieticians', 'nutritionists' doing total 180 on so much of their nonsense.

    Please stay away and support the non pseudo experts, the real people on YouTube that have actually succeeded.

    Please don't support these hypocrites that sell you all sorts of crap, processed crap, and programs and are taking medication and unhealthy themselves.

    Stay safe out there watchers and beware the idiots masquerading as 'experts'. You are better than that and you can make yourself healthy.

  6. I agree that your largest meal should be the first. It still fits with fasting. As long as youre eating with the sun is up and stop when the sun has gone down. Ive also heard (not sure its true) that eating breakfast is better for your hormone regulation, that skipping brwakfast.

  7. I'm glad to hear that I've been doing one of these…the veggies are always cut and put out on thr counter at our house, especially before lunch time. They are almost always gone by the time lunch is ready 😂

  9. @abbeyskitchen I think you accidentally said "eating pistachios with their shells on" making it sound like people should eat the shell!! instead of like saying, buying pistachios with their shells on and going through removing them before eating them
