  1. Thank you, Dr. Almandoz, for this. It was really helpful because there are so many misunderstandings about GLP-1s. I am one who got heart valve problems from Fen-Phen, then lost and regained 190 pounds after RNY Gastric Bypass, and am now down 190+ pounds on GLP-1s. The difference between the three is significant, as you know. The GLP-1 and GLP-1/GIP I have been on over the last two years have been the most wondrous health gain and weight loss of all three. From needing wheelchairs and being unable to walk from my weight to now walking at least two miles+ a day, my life has been transformed. From HbA1c of 9.0 to now 5.1, off 5 different meds for co-morbidities, and more… I am alive! I have hope of being alive for a long time because of these meds. Thank you again for speaking out about the chronic state of obesity. I have no plans or desire to ever go off Mounjaro.

  5. Type 2 diabetic here. I lost 60 (+/-) pounds w/in 2-3 months and have kept it off. A1C has been just below 7. Yes, I have a little tummy problem, but will trade that to remain off insulin!
