Sorry, but this is so generic that almost useless. For example losing weight on keto is based on fat burning under ketosis while calories are practically irrelevant. On the other hand, just counting calories while not taking into account the actual food you eat can be even harmful. For example I can eat cupcakes and drink coke while limiting my calories and will probably end up gaining weight and developing serious chronic diseases.
Every nutritionist video I see begins with a negative crack about "restrictive diets" – as if from a tribe, or a self-protective guild. It's a massive turn off. I've known several people who lost weight on keto and transitioned. Here's an idea: why don't you guys help people with the transition rather than a priori telling people it's going to fail? I will believe the evidence of my own eyes over nutritionists' ideological commitments. I don't want to do the keto diet, or low fat, because I have skin problems on the one, and the latter is too tedious to be borne. Doesn't mean they don't work for some people.

For anyone struggling, use chatgpt to get your TDEE and then just enter your food and ask chatgpt for calories. Dont worry about macros too much, just make sure youre getting enough protein, itll keep you feeling less hungry. Have 1.5 times your body weight of protein in grams.

This is such a clear breakdown — but for women in perimenopause or menopause, I’ve found that even the ‘perfect’ calorie deficit can stop working. If gut health and hormones aren’t on board, the body literally holds on. I didn’t see real progress until I shifted focus from just math to metabolism repair — especially after 40.
