not quite true. I kept sober for 8 months straight and I didn't lose one pound.
well.. I don't drink, like ever! and I have belly fat… in my case it's sugar, carbs… trying to decrease but it's not easy as it's pleasure food for me.
I’m frustrated to hear this. I’ve been sober for two years. First 7 or 8 months I lost 20 pounds. Then the weight came back. I have been doing keto for 40 days and I’ve only lost 6 pounds. I am struggling with the sugar cravings. I’m convinced that sugar is just as addictive as alcohol. Sugar alcohols seem to have that same effect.

Yeah stop drinking I haven't had a drink since 2016 and it made me feel alot better health wise and financially wise too stopping drinking is an all around winner.

I don’t drink, never have. I’m doing Keto, no sugar, carbs under 30 a day or less. I’ve lost 78 lbs in 9 months, but still can’t get rid of my belly, primarily the top swelling above my gut. It’s always swollen and hard compared to my lower belly.

I never drank heavy, never drank at home… only went to a local bar, had two,went home. The drunks busted on me as "two drink Tom."
Now, I'm old… aging changes everything… I am working on eliminating alcohol… I'm down to one drunk per week. I enjoy a good drunk… socially or alone… anxiety just goes away… it's like a vacation…
One would think being retired is a vacation. or me, it is not. I'm busy, every damn day… I take care of myself, work hard on the property….because I'm too poor to hire someone…. I have to do the work… which I see as a good thing for mind and body alike.
Some days I wake up sore from heavy lifting… big rocks, moving wheelbarrows of dirt, shoveling, swinging a pickaxe, building things… because of this hard work, I don't need or want a drink.. I'm mellow, sleep well and long.
When I do give myself the gift of a good drunk, I pay for it the next day in low energy, slow thinking, and a headache… which inspires me to not drink… go for two weeks next time.
