How does older age factor into weight loss surgery ? Is a person in their late 60s a good candidate for a VSG?
I’m 31 years old I just got diagnosed with type two diabetes about six months ago I’m about 5’8 And I have non-fatty alcoholic liver disease even though I do not drink on top of that I want to say nine months ago I did a sleep study test and I have sleep apnea I wait about 395 pounds in so far I feel like I would be a good candidate for this procedure I’m just so afraid of being put to sleep and not waking up or being in a coma state and not being able to inform the doctors that I feel pain I’m afraid to be put under general anesthesia I’ve never really had a surgery before My insurance company says that I qualify for this procedure and I feel like it will help me completely right now my doctor have me taking 1000 mg of meta-Forman for my diabetes two pills a day which equals up to 2000 mg I don’t have high blood pressure or high cholesterol or any heart problems my BMI is 65.9 I don’t wanna be taking diabetes medication for the rest of my life I don’t want to be snoring using a sleep apnea machine my mother is no longer living she had sleep acne she had a large heart she had diabetes it took over her life she was only 53 when she passed I’m so scared I want my life back I want to lose weight I want to live my best life I get so emotional when it comes to this I want to live it I don’t want any complications the more I watch your videos it make me want to get this procedure but I can’t get out of my own head i’m very scared of complications or something going wrong It’s shortening my life and my life span and my quality of life I have no doubts that this is a procedure that will turn my life around 360 but what if I am that one and shit goes wrong
Hello sr
I did my MGB surgery one month ago but I am not happy. I can not eccept the chingese in my body. Is it reversable? Can through a surgery make it normal again?
Doctor ,I am soon steeping into 22 years age .My height is 172 cm and weight is 82 kg .So ,am I qualified candidate for bariatric surgery? Please reply
Don't let anything stop you from gastric beariatric surgery. Don't wait and think the blood pressure medication and diabetic medication and insulin is just my way of life. Sleep apnea is no fun but ill just deal with it. If your on disability there is a way to get it paid for. If you need a new car the surgery is not as expensive as a moderate equipped new car. I am retired and 67 years old i have medicare part a and b. And a supplement. Insurance has been paying 100 percent. I have lost total 80 lbs since august 2023. And it is may 2024.No more blood pressure medication no more diabetic medication and insulin. I walk 4 miles a day and in August i will get a sleep study to see if i still need the c-pap. I had a total 11 different doctors and every health system was checked. I wish i would of had the surgery the first time my body mass index went over 40. About 25 years ago.
Thanks for the info 🦋👩🦰
