What do I do if I’m so hungry even after eating unless I eat at maintenance. If I eat under I can’t handle it. This is new for me. And I’m just tryna lose 15 vanity pounds. I do walk 50 mins
Walking is awesome. Calorie deficit is needed to lose fat, but it is not as simple as that. These guys are smart, but they don't know how to lose weight. Most of what they say comes from the perspective of an already fit person. They don't understand the dynamics of what it feels like to have all that extra weight (bless their little hearts, they try). Calorie restriction alone is a plan for failure. Keto/carnivore in a Calorie restriction is much more effective and much more sustainable than Calorie restriction alon because you don't feel famished, and you will lose weight faster than Calorie restriction alone. Mix in walking, which is also sustainable for someone starting out heavy. After you start feeling great, add resistance training. That's how to lose fat. Get a gym membership and count calories… quit after 2 weeks because your body isn't made for that (yet) and stay fat.
Funny how the law of thermodynamics is always quoted but the EFFECT macronutrients have on the body and the STATE of the individual biochemistry (insulin resistant and obese Vs lean with high sensitivity, age, hormonal profile) is seldom taken into account.
What the macronutrients DO to you body and HOW your body reacts to them is as important or maybe (within the context of fat loss) MORE important?!
You cannot tell me 2500 calories of muffins will have the same effect as 2500 calories of chicken breast, so why are they both considered equal so far as thermodynamic applied to nutrition?
It is possible, theoretically, to be in a calorie surplus on keto. But you have to work at it. You have to make yourself uncomfortably full, often. Whereas, with a too-high balance of carbs, you can be in a calorie surplus and still feel hungry 6 hours a day. Keto works because your intake is controlled by a lack of craving, instead of spreadsheets and self hatred. Of course, that craving control can also be achieved by eating a mountain of food with low calorie density and pounds of fiber… but broccoli is keto-friendly too, so why not both?
Your missing the Insulin dump that occurs when our bodies eat carbs and sugars. This triggers or bodies into storage mode. People need to be informed as to how our hormones work as well. That knowledge helped me drop 80lbs in one year with just walking
I actually think their answer might be missing the point of the question a bit. It’s obvious that you need to be in a caloric deficit to lose any kind of weight.
To me, the question is asking if a person who’s in a caloric deficit and also walking as the main form of cardio is wasting their time walking any less than at least 30+ minutes because then they’re not really cutting into their fat stores. And it seems like given the first 30 seconds of the video, the answer is yes, maybe?
I used to believe it was about calories in and calories out but metabolism is the regulator and it is controlled by hormones. Btw my wife and I walked 17 miles today…with no calories.
Problem is numbnuts no all types of calories from food are treated the same. Hence how to efficiently get into calorie deficit is key. And thats keto. 😊
You just gave me more information in 3 minutes than the 3 months of videos I’ve been seeing lately. Thank you!
Lol. Building 5 lbs of muscle will burn more calories than 30 minute walks… 😂. Building 5 lbs of muscle will also take about a year if you're lucky and have your training and nutrition optimal. Of you need to lose fat you can Start walking right now.
I'd actually recommend sprinkling in "walking snacks" all through out the day. This keeps you way more generally active.
Also if a person doesn't move that much, it'll be easier for them to do 20-30 min walks every few hrs than walking 5-8 miles in one shot.
Calories in calories out I don't think works. Surely you would need to mend your hormones before you can loose fat
I used to be fat at 260lbs and now down to 190lbs and almost ripped and feel great! what is my secret? I just walk everyday for an hour and a half and fast mainly 16/8, as for diet i pretty much eat what i like within my eating window! Never counted a calorie in my life and i pity people who do,it's such an idiotic simplistic way of thinking! First and foremost they are inaccurate as food industries are legally allowed to be off + or – 20% and secondly our body's are not closed systems! You can eat 2000 "calories of whole nutritious foods and lose weight or you could eat 2000 calories of junk food and gain weight! If it was just about "counting calories" nobody would be fat!
I got to 260lbs because i slipped a disc back in 2016 and then i just stopped giving a f*ck for 7 odd years until i was diagnosed with non alcoholic fatty liver and borderline prediabetes, you could say it was a wake up call so after diagnosis i started walking everyday and fasting for 16 hours everyday with no change in my nutrition and my fatty liver and prediabetes are now gone and my bloodwork has never been better, the difference is I'm not deluded enough to think i got fat because i ate "too many calories"!
TLDR, the reason you are fat is because you eat too frequently during the day even if the foods are healthy (whatever that means!) You're still spiking your sugar and insulin and you give your body no reason to burn stored fat because you keep feeding it all the time! Your not fat because you ate "too many calories" your fat because you eat several times a day and never give your body the chance to break down the food! Start fasting which will give your body enough time to break down the foods and then it will tap into your fat stores for energy and voila you lose fat!
"And you'll lose muscle" i predict some moron will reply, don't be ridiculous if that was the case we'd be extinct long ago and we'd have been useless hunters! When you fast your body increases hgh which spares muscle! Your body isn't stupid such as yourself it's very intelligent and knows exactly what its doing its has centuries to work all this shit out! How long have you been alive for, you think you know better than your own body that's had centuries worth of evolution?!🤣🙄 don't make me laugh!
Building 1 pound of muscle is like 6 extra calories per day burned so gaining 5 pounds is 30 calories a walk burns way more than this
Thank you for cutting through all the BS that’s out there!
I wish there were more interesting places for me to walk. My neighborhood is boring
Jesus just say GLYCOGEN.
A longer walk is also going to give you a bigger appetite.
Just bear that in mind…. 🐻
I walk 30k steps a day go to gym 5/6 days aweek eat super clean below maintenance at 14% bf will this get me to 10% which is my goal i been stuck at 180lbs 14 % bf for about 3 weeks
I do a brisk 15000 steps a day split over 2 – 3 walking sessions, my last walk is after dinner. Long walks are grenades to fat, it’s the best way to get lean and shredded.
